The Uganda Handball Federation was established to oversee and regulate handball activities in Uganda. It is affiliated with the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the African Handball Confederation (CAHB), which allows Ugandan handball players to participate in international competitions.
International Participation: The UHF facilitates the participation of Ugandan handball teams in international competitions. This includes the African Handball Nations Cup, where the national team competes against other African countries for a chance to qualify for the World Handball Championship. The UHF also supports the participation of Ugandan clubs in regional and continental club championships.
The Uganda Handball Federation Executive Team is comprised of eight key positions: President, Vice-President (Administration), Vice President (Technical), Treasurer, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Technical Commission Representative, and Three Co-opted Members. The committee convenes monthly on the last Thursday to oversee and implement decisions made by the council and congress. Their responsibilities encompass the overall management of UHF activities, including administrative, technical, and financial aspects. The team is entrusted with strategic planning and representing the federation in external collaborations, ensuring the growth and success of handball in Uganda.

The UHF has several key objectives, including the promotion and development of handball at all levels, the organization of national handball leagues and tournaments, the training and development of players, coaches, and referees, and the representation of Uganda in international handball events.
Development Programs: The UHF places emphasis on the development of handball at the grassroots level. It conducts coaching and refereeing courses to enhance the skills and knowledge of individuals involved in the sport. The federation also organizes talent identification programs and provides support to youth handball clubs and academies.
